It’s hard to believe that Sweat It Out golden boys Porsches have only released one single. In a seriously short amount of time, Porsches have already achieved so much with their breakout (dare we say it) ‘hit’ ‘Horses’ shooting them into the Australian music consciousness faster than a Texan to a rodeo.
In a market full of dark, slow electronica, ‘Horses’ showed us that pop sensibilities can still shine through in the Australian electronic world. It was a track that gave Porsches the springboard to do official remixes for The Preatures and Asta, sign to WME for bookings, play to jam packed rooms at Bigsound, and now support Tkay Maidza on her current national tour.
With their sound honed and their live show perfected, Porsches now present their second ever single, and official follow up to ‘Horses’ with ‘Karate’. Holding true to their genius pop vocal melodies and flawless production prowess, Karate is every bit as good as you’d hope.
If ‘Horses’ showcased our boys to the nation, ‘Karate’ is set to show them to the world.
